On April 22, the Provincial Foreign Affairs Work Conference was held in Jinan. Cai Xianjin, Director of the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and President of the Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Vice President Lin Hai represented SDAU at the conference and was the only representative from universities across the province to make a typical presentation.

With the theme of "Anchoring at the International Benchmark of 'Striving for First-Class' and Accelerating the Construction of a New Pattern of Open Education", Lin Hai introduced our university's experiences in international education. Our university initiated the establishment of the China-CEEC Modern Agricultural Science and Education Innovation Alliance, set up the Africa Bridge Agricultural Poverty Alleviation Village and overseas science and technology yards in Kenya, and signed cooperation agreements with 86 high-level universities from multiple countries. We have jointly organized 7 Sino-foreign cooperative education programs, cultivated a large number of compound international talents, and provided training for agricultural officials and technicians from multiple countries. We have actively carried out overseas talent introduction, recruiting 15 high-level overseas talents, and selected backbone teachers to study abroad or attend international conferences. We have also co-established a research center with an international institution, conducted 26 international research projects, and had our research achievements published in top international journals such as Science, Nature, and Cell, greatly enhancing our university's international reputation.

Looking ahead, our university will deeply integrate into the “Belt and Road Initiative”, taking the construction of Striving for First-Class and the 811 project for provincial first-class discipline construction as the starting points to deepen open education, polish the gold-lettered signboard of high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road in the field of education, and make greater contributions to serving China's major-country diplomacy and the chapter of Shandong's modernization.
